Light plane crashes at Fox Glacier

Must be a busy day if i beat the news hounds to this


Three people cheated death in a plane crash at the Fox Glacier airfield just before 1pm today. Initial reports from the crash site said two passengers scrambled out of the wreck.

The pilot was trapped inside briefly but was soon freed.

A St John spokesman said the pilot suffered a punctured lung but two passengers got away with barely a scratch.

Yes they were very lucky indeed. The thought of that happening always scared me when I lived/worked there, now it happened and it ain't nice. I had a thread here a while ago with some pics of flying there. Ther was one on finals to that strip and you can see the bush at the end where they ended up. Not a good thing to do...

I was going to say , I recall the Thread , Put the Bush Pilot into a spotlight , Its not only the few behind , YEAH sure . ... your thinking off them its how your going to approach and execute and put it down in the right place to make all happy .
