For those of you who saw all the aircraft zipping and plodding about this morning and wondered why?
It was the annual Battle of Britain fly past over the museum to commemorate
the Battle of Britain in which a number of NZr's took part, Sept 1940-Sept 2008. (68th)

I live in cockle bay (near howick) and our house is right under the main drag from AR around the beaches to Auckland city so had a good view of everything going past. saw formations of Harvards , yaks, Tiger moths and it looked like both spits and the mustang and the P40, also the catalina and dakota were out there as well and a formation of cessnas from one of the aeroclubs. it was a great day weather wise as well. was out walking the dog at the time so unfortunately didn't have the camera ready. oh well it still looked and sounded great!
