You could be in wellington and proberly still get good recordings from those engines,would be cool to be the winner and sit in the copit ,ear muffs on "check " smile on the face "check"

Posted: Wed Sep 24, 2008 8:28 pmIf you are planning on coming along the aircraft will have its doors open at 3.00pm with engine start at around 4.00pm but it can be a long process so around 3.30pm would be a good time, hopefully we get a good day.

A few of us really love that old plane and it would be nice to see a good crowd there tomorrow.
Entry is $5 and for another $5 you can go into the draw to win a ride in the jump seat for the start.
If we get a lot of people there it will be run a few times before Classic Fighters.
Well, I am off as there are a few more jobs to do on the old girl before the big day out tomorrow.
She will eventually put back in the static display area where it has been until last night.

I was in the cockpit today while the engines were run up to 1900rpm, just magic.
It will be a special day tomorrow as its been so much work and the public will finally be able to see the result.
There will be future ground runs so I will post the details here as well.
I manned the chocks today as well before climbing aboard, and what an awesome sound, ears ringing though

Posted: Sun Sep 28, 2008 4:18 pmVery good day in Blenheim. I dropped into Omaka to see the Bristol. It was great to catch up with Al Marshall and also meet (very briefly) for the first time Gavin. Bristol runs were very impressive, the engines started relatively easily and sound very good. Al managed to do a few figure of eights on the airfield and a couple of taxi runs at "higher" than normal speeds. Me gets the feeling that many would love to see air under those wheels again !!
Well done to all the guys. Hope to catch up with you sometime again soon Gavin.

Was good to finally meet you Dean, always rushing around where Omaka is involved, lots to do but quite rewarding all the same.
At least I have put the name to the face so thats a good start.
I expect to be flying into Woodbourne on November 12 in Nanchang 20 so keep a look out.
