A while ago I read Stick and Rudder by Wolfgang Langewiesche, and it helped me immensely with my initial training. I got it from the library at the time. However I found it so useful I wanted to buy a copy for reference - but I couldn't find any in NZ.

Until now! Fishpond.co.nz stock it! Goes for between $49 and $56, depending on the discount they do on that day. Get it when its just over $50, cos orders over $50 have free shipping. I ordered mine last Wednesday and paid $52 and got it the next monday, not bad since they source them from overseas on demand.



This book is awesome for student pilots like myself, and after after a few reads I felt I had my head around everything much better than my instructors had explained it. You can also sample the First half of the book at Google Books.

You get a good book , you never let it go , the formative info anywhere any time , .. outside in the sun reading , the beginning of your collection

Literally THE aviation bible!
Everything in it is so clearly explained... the "why's" & "how's" - a lot of other technical books could benefit from writers like Wolfgang.

As a side note, the copy I was lent by an older gent when i was doing my basic training had been personally signed by the man himself

Yip your right there man, all aero clubs should stock it (or even force it on their students).
