Jetstar may fly in NZ

Just saw this article. It suggests that Jetstar might start services in New Zealand.

They'd replace JetConnect from what I've heard.

The only way they will do this is if they replace JetConnect as victor said, they've done the same move in Australia on some domestic routes.

Does Qantas JetConnect have Premium Economy or Business Class?

They already fly here into Christchurch. Though I suppose if they're going to actually start NZ service, and not Trans-Tasman ones it's a different story. I just assume if Jetstar opens up new NZ routes, it'll be the A320's, into the regular airports? Or will they get some smaller aircraft (ATRs, Q400 etc) and fly them into the smaller airports as well? I guess it all depends where the demand for air travel is in NZ, and how much money Jetstar are going to throw at it.

NZ doesn't exactly have many places where anything from a 737/A320 and up can go...we've already got ANZ, Pacific Blue, NZ link/Mt Cook/Air Nelson, Vincent Aviation and all the rest, would starting more services really be worth it? Or is there that much demand for it? What about space to park the aircraft, gates for flights and things? If more carriers start NZ routes at the rate they're going, pretty soon it'll get clogged up...won't it? Sorry, don't really know too much about how this all works.

I doubt they will add to what is already here - Jetstar (a Qantas subsidary) will replace Qantas (Jetconnect) in NZ and no doubt fly the same routes with A320s

Just going to open a base in Auckland to fly to Sydney and the Gold Coast. No domestic, no replacing.
