heavy heavy heavy fog at NZHN

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Living halfway between the small towns of Te Awamutu and Otorohanga, Im about 30 Km away from NZHN. Too far to see the airport itself, but close enough to some some planes on approach and stuff. So anyway this morning, I looked out the window, and saw the contrails of a a jet aircraft slowly making huge circles in the sky (id say about 50-60 km diameter). As it was a fine morning where I was, the first thing I did was turn on FS and put it to real weather. Wowww I thought, this would be why the plane doesnt want to land. It was very foggy. I couldnt even see the aircraft from the tower view. :o
