A small plane has crashed near Pahiatua, east of Palmerston North, and emergency services are attending the accident.
Police communications said the plane, believed to be a top dresser, went down around 5.10pm.
The pilot was free from the wreckage and able to speak with police. It was not known what injuries he received.

My guess is its Rural Aerial Co-Operatives. They based in Pahiatua
Isn't a top dresser.
Belongs to a mate of mine. He's currently in Intensive care in stable condition.
He's a stubhorn old goat. I pity the nurses once he's up and about. Though I wouldn't want to be in his shoes when his missus gets hold of him.

Tararua Heliwork??
Hope he gets well soon ,he is a lucky guy so far getting out of something like that ...
Private plane - a Rallye based at Taonui
Spoke to his son last night who'd just been up at the hospital. He has 2 broken ankles, a broken femur, banged scone and a few other bumps.
He was concious when they were at the crash site but when I spoke to his son last night he'd been heavily sedated. (pilot that is, not his son)
He is currently in ICU and is expected to be there for the rest of the week. He's going to be alright but he'll be slowed down for a while. Pity as he'd just put a new engine in a few months back.

Hopefully the pilot makes a full recovery.
Wish him a speedy recovery for all of us at NZFF.
Hopefully he will be in the air in no time
