How sad

RIP to those involved and thoughts with their families.
The aircraft in question was I think on its ferry flight back to NZ after some time at Airbus. I think it was flown by Air NZ pilots.

From a bit of research I believe the plane was D-AXLA which was registered ZK OJL (use to be the the special freedom livery)

Really shocked to hear about an A320 crash, especially one of our own!
I just checked on wiki, and out of the 3,572 built, there have only ever been 17 hull loses- so unfortunate that one of those happened to be an ANZ bird.
RIP to all on board, and deepest condolences to their family's.
By the way, didn't they say that this particular aircraft was on lease to XL Airways? They were based at Gatwick, in England, not far from where I've been staying for the last few months, and they went bust back in September... unless they have a separately branded German subsidy?

The aircraft was going through testing for a delivery back to Air NZ - so that could be why it was coming back here.
