Just got back from aussie last night. I wont bother telling you everything about the trip. Heres just some of the aviation photos.

Gate guardian at Gympie Aerodrome.

McDermott Aviation Gympie. The guy has eight of these all with turbine conversions. Only two were there at the time.

Solloy conversion.

Its a seriously big outfit. There were seven of these there though only two were outside. He also has Bell 204s.

All of the operational ones had this engine conversion.

This is proably ex NZ. Caloundra.

These guys also had a Bell 222 though it never ventured outside.

More of these than R22s in Aussie.

There seem to be a few of these floating around also.

Haha yeah right.

Caloundra Air Museum now. Well worth a look.

Tiger Moth with spray gear.

I wouldnt fly it.

CAC Sabre.

Number 18 off the production line.

Meteor and Sea Venom.

Cropmaster.

Now this is kinda frightning!

Fighter lineup.

Gannet. No Australian museum should be without one.

As per usual, anything that sits outside deteriorates.

Very sorry looking Tracker.

I think this is ex NZ.

Beech 18 at Caboolture.

Hinkler Air Museums Avro Baby. Really great museum dedicated to Bert Hinkler in Bundaberg. Its a bugger to get photos of the aeroplanes as the photos will show.

Avro Avian

The Ibis. Designed by Hinkler to be the ultimate cruiser.

A real Puss Moth in the colours of the machine that Hinkler was flying when he was killed in Italy.

Bugger of a thing to photograph.

Brisbane airport. Not a bad place to take photos. Pity there was nothing going on.

Flying out to the south over Brisbane. I was unfortunate enough to be booked on an ANZ A320 which broke down so they threw me onto JTP which turned out to be about 2 hours late.

It sure beats working!! I have a few photos similar to the two above. Let me know if you want me to post them.

Great collection of photos CN - thanks for posting ..despite going to Queensland a few times I have never got to an aviation museum there.

Love the "deck chair" seat on the autogyro.

Welcome back CN- Looks like you had a good time over the ditch cool.gif

Caloundra QAM doesn't look like it's changed much, apart from the Caribou. That wasn't there when I visited.

What sort of state was the Canberra in? In 2007 it was sitting in the outside shed getting sanded down for what looked like a repaint, but the cockpit was shot to pieces. Any pics?

I tell ya what Ian, those 47s are brilliant with the conversions in them. HNZ had just about all of their ones like that.
Couldnt get any decent photos of the Canberra Andrew, crammed into the corner with stuff all around it. Usual story with a museum, too much stuff, not enough space.
