Hi guys, the other day I was talking to an instructor and he said that most people who fly either Ride a bike of some sort or sail/drive a boat of some sort so I have decided to do a poll and find out.
Any comments welcome.
Thanks

Road bike: Check but definitely need an upgrade!
Mountain bike: check but also need an upgrade, $400 warehouse ones from 5 years ago are too damn heavy

Bikes bikes bikes.... cars are scary things that have too many wheels and lean the wrong way going around corners!
GSX-R1100 (I like old school horsepower) and Specialized mountain bike (which is so heavy it could well be made out of thinly disguised mountains!)

And i have spent many hours on a honda CRF250R Dirft Bike.
It is intresting.
Oh yea I am going solo in a micro-light (Sports Cruiser) in the next week or so and also towards my PPL in the next week or so, looking forward to it,

Shouldn't you have included a "Fly in real life" answer as well ? Surely there's a difference between how many people who fly do those things and how many people fly a sim do those things ...

That is true but i figured since we are under the real world aviation section that people would realize simming doesn't count

I knew when i answered your poll that it was for realworld ppl and i do have a true passion for getting some sort of licence for aircraft and have taken the controls of AC acouple of times ,im very good at simming and it does push me towards the over all goal, so i guessed id be able to vote in this poll seeing i do ride a bike ...there was a poll here simming and musical instruments and it happen to be drummers and rotorheads were very common between the flight sim community ..

Since it's only ever me that I ever need to cart round, it makes much more sense to have a motorbike than a car - carrying my 70kg self on a 90kg vehicle (the bike) instead of a 1000kg one (car)

no contest.

So true and so much fun unless its winter and very wet ,as a motorcycle courier in the day i got so sick being out in the wet for 10 hrs a day

we use to come back to base and sit in front of the diesil heat blower and steam off ,,oh how good that felt

I think nearly every kid in a first world country was given a bike for birthday/Christmas somewhere along the line... I sold mine when I bought my first car though as it was rendered unnecessary.
Lots of my mates drive motorbikes though- $20 of gas will get you way further than most 4 wheeled vehicles. They go on cool little day trips from Auckland to Thames, all round the Coromandel and back, and it only costs them about $60 in petrol money!
I like to kayak by the way
