Solo Circuit Flying

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Just a few pics I thought I would post up of my flight today,
First time I took my camera while flying solo so sorry for the short amount of pics displayed. I was a bit nervous on bringing my camera while flying as I was focusing more on flying than taking pics. Hard today as the cloud base was about 1,200ft and the circuit height is 1,000ft so it made it interesting.
Will get more pictures next time I fly solo:

Nice pics- do you ever fly over the Welcome Bay area?

I'd be keen to see that that looks like from the air after staying there earlier this month.

Nice pics, but I would suggest you leave your camera on the ground unless you have someone else doing the flying or taking the pictures... 250' off the ground on short finals is no place to be doing anything other than flying the aircraft!

ps. what were you doing in the circuit that resulted in +3.5 and -2 g???? ninja.gif winkyy.gif

Yea I know HardCorePawn, I realised that was a silly thing to do and i won't be doing that again.

The G indicator I have no idea what was wrong with that. Wasn't bothered as i wasn't doing Aerobactics in the circuit I can assure you lol

I will and I mean WILL not be taking pics flying in the circuit by myself again.

Maybe you could find some way to mount the camera, and set it to take a picture every minute or so ?

Or you could take someone along to take them for you. A friend of mine used to take his dad up in the back seat sometimes when he was learning, so it can presumably be done. Not sure where you could ask to find someone who'd want to go for a ride in an aeroplane to take photos, but there must be somewhere ..... laugh.gif

Nice photos, and I'm sure we've all had moments where we did things that we thought afterwards "what the heck was I thinking ???" That's the best way to really learn not to do them again.

Cheers
