Actually, it's a real scoop for the Herald: "RUSSIAN SPY PLANE/CLOAKING DEVICE UNMASKED".

These [Internet] days, there's just NO EXCUSE for not being able to find an archive pic of an L-29 - and even Google for the basic information. There'll be people on these very forums that will have pics of that very aricraft (Gavin???) - which they could have supllied the Herald with, for the standard reproduction fee.

I wonder how they came up with it being Russian, I did the typical idiot reporter check and typed "L-29 Delfin" into Google and the first few pages that came up all clearly indicate that it's Czech.

I remember back in school a completely non-aviation knowledgeable girl seeing an attack helicopter on a movie we were watching in class (think it was an Apache or something) and saying "oh, that's a MiG isn't it?". Needless to say I couldn't help but laugh.

Hahahaha! I once spent a week on a V-bomber base in the UK - when it still had a nuclear deterrent (so you can work out how old I am!) "Quite" they are NOT laugh.gif

At one stage, I was [directly] 50m behind a Vulcan when they ran some full throttle engine tests. I didn't even hear the sound - I just felt all my internal organs vibrating!!!
