Very funny piece in The Press yesterday, nothing earth shattering but typical of lazy journos and incompetent editors.

The feature referred to a Pac Blue jet that, according to the article, applied uneven thrust on takeoff, lost control and subsequently skidded of the runway. The incident took place at Sydney International. The thing that made me chuckle was, in order to illustrate to those among us who live on the moon and don’t know where Sydney is the writer inset a map of Aussie with a red dot indicating the geographic location of the incident – the only thing was, the red dot wasn’t anywhere near Sydney and the name underneath it said Melbourne.......lmfao!! Fracking doughnuts!!

Now now, they're not all bad ... Earlier this week the Police sent out an email alert saying a truck had hit the medium barrier on the motorway. While we were all wiping our brows at what a close thing that had been (imagine if it had only hit the small barrier !) the Herald item appeared and we saw to our relief it had actually been the median barrier.

Then of course we started wondering what the Herald would have said if I hadn't taken the **ss out of the police email on a mailing list which oodles of media belong too ...

Can we expect to see your correction in the Press' "Putting it right" column?
