I think this was the first fatal F-22 crash. My best wishes go out to the family and the Lockheed-Martin team.

You're right, there does! Although I remind myself that proportionally there will have been a great deal more road vehicle accidents over the same period but as these are just 'everyday news' nowadays you don't tend to hear about it. We'll it's what aids me not to focus on the negatives stuff too much!

I'd leap at the chance to be a test pilot especially for an F22 its the ultimate aircraft.

The nice thing about Flight Simulation , do as i do - modify your normal preferred flight settings to MAX settings and approach every new pc model as a real flight test . as you progress you really get to enjoy how realistic the model devolpers have gone to increase the real feel without getting yourself killed .

I've flown real aircraft and I only fly FSX on realistic settings even when I beat every single FSX Delux acceleration mission. Thing about the 22 is you'd need an emergency puke bag. biggrin.gif

What does cost matter since they are paying you to test it, IMO the most annoying aspect of being a test pilot is the paper work. Those guys have to write a book about the aircrafts performance, its limitations and capabilitys for something like the F22 it would most likely involve a book the size of an encyclopedia considering it involves FBW.
