Reading a magazine whilst waiting here in Sweden, and found an article about simulators in Sweden at the Vasteras Aviation museum. Looks like there are a few there, including a Metropolitan simulator. The group that offers DC3 flights out of Stockholm Bromma airport has a trip planned to Vasteras Museum with the chance to try out the simulators, including a DC10 sim. I have emailed them for more details, in case I can try this one out. More details are here, only in Swedish though:

So if you are up in Sweden (I know that it is a LONG way from NZ!) then it might be worth checking out.

The old Convair type cockpit would a lotta fun HT , be interesting to find if the gauges worked
