Havard 52 Crash

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

ZK-MJN crashed on landing this arvo at Ardmore- was doing circuits all afternoon but apparently caught a bit of air on a touch and go- bounced and came down hard, snapping of the landing gear and skidding it off the side of the runway... I know a few members have some photos, although am not sure of any further details. Does anyone know the full story? Havn't seen anything on the MRC or Wings over NZ sites yet.

Haven't found anything either. I assume its because of the stress of the ground loop incident?

Hope pilot and possibly passenger are ok!!!

Oh jeez, and so close to Omaka! Hope those on board are ok, and that the aircraft won't cost too much to repair.

A photo is online at WoNZ: http://rnzaf.proboards.com/index.cgi?board...amp;thread=8870. Scroll down the page about halfway. Sad for this to happen again, and especially so soon after Masterton sad.gif

And "crash" is a little extreme winkyy.gif I was petrified there was injury involved, reading the title! Mishap, perhaps?
