Dont worry team , this isn't a rant .... but Ive been thinking about society. Just went outside for a ciggi, i know thats bad , but its now my only vice (but , name your poison i guess)
Anyway, I'm outside having a puff .... and i can hear the woman next door screaming at her two under 5 year olds while coughing on her reefer .... and on the other side , some drunken yahoo telling the world "Ive done it ... you mother f****r , ive done it " good on ya mate , i just hope it was legal.
I think Im a fossil , i really do ..... the things i hold up as important seem to be fading away fast.
Odd things like , commitment , loyalty, trust, and tradition ..... maybe these people have their own version , i really dont care. I lost a good mate recently , and another is on his way as we speak (i hope)
Last week i sat in my office , and watched the parade of slumped , hoody wearing ,baggy arsed whatevers pass by .... going to where ever, thinking the world owes them something ..... inside i was shouting , pull your pants up , remove the hood and the shades.
So, all that aside ..... check this out , if you have time.

Love them or hate them (and yes I've slammed them in the past), but , they understand.....and believe..... listen to that guy in the clip.

Doug , check this post out , but no wine was involved.... so i think it can stay (Meds will be finished this week)

Completely understand Marty - the whole worlds society is stuffed most people it seems are slowly ruining themselves whether it be relationships, drugs, alcohol etc etc bla bla....
one thing that amazes me is the amount of scum that just mill around day after day completely wasting their lives

one day though all this will end...

I do think that 'these people' do have their own versions, but they take second place to just trying to survive day to day. Most people's loyalties, for example, extend only to their own families, and even then the way they show it might not be obvious to outsiders. Tradition is a very personal thing within families, and you can't really judge them by general standards. And really, while I respect your beliefs, like most of the people in Christchurch I really can't see the relevance of the military to day-to-day life. When I was coming home this afternoon on the ferry the sun was shining on Ripapa Island, and I got to thinking about the type of world we had when that was an active fort during WW1 and WW2. I would imagine that the Russians it protected us from during WW1 would not have been aware of its existence, whereas today, it would show up on surveillance satellites as a tiny angry gnat if we were again under threat of invasion. But the very fact that there are so-called super powers out there who use global surveillance to 'protect' themselves belongs to a world which most people of Christchurch, or the whole of New Zealand, couldn't really imagine as part of the real world.

I was talking with my brother this afternoon, about the usual Christchurch stuff, the damage, the flooding, the lack of jobs, the stress, rising costs, greed, dishonesty, the sheer guts which people needed just to stay here, and the guilt associated with leaving, even if most of our family has left. But we also talked about how great it was that our children were all healthy, happy, with a good future, despite all this. The last thing they need is a future where military might is a major part in their lives. And we also talked about the few of us who didn't have the same sort of future, because of booze or drugs, or dishonesty, and there are a few of those in the family. But we'd all do what we could to help them if we could see a way to really help. All it takes is commitment, loyalty, trust...

Sorry, mate, this isn't a dig at you, you have been a bit knee-deep in it lately through no fault of your own, but there is so much positive stuff out there, it's just buried under a layer of mud and hardship.

Just read your first Post, Marty...

..and I am amazed/surprised!.... ohmy.gif ...!

I would never have thought that New Zealand contained those sort of "Low Life" in its population....!

I would have thought those sort of activities would only happen in the likes of down-town Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco East Bay!

...(and parts of the South London suburbs....populated by Aliens!... winkyy.gif .....)...!

My daily read as a California Flight Simmer...>>> http://news.kron4.com/

Nothing like that in my local area of Hereford!

Its nice to live your life in peace and quiet!

Paul...peaceful and quiet... cool.gif ...!

(You can come and live next-door to me, if you like!...).... biggrin.gif ...!

P.S...and its the start of Summer-time now!... thumbup1.gif ...!

New Zealand is also clean and green, suicide is ripe (pity some don't) - But after my battle I got rid of the convicts next door a month back and neighbourhood has returned to normal , yes indeed you still get the "Low Life" and strangely the idiots put them into a community, godboy social workers destroyed the community, I had the police here nearly every month for two years, lucky I was at home and able to monitor the dropkicks ... every society gets them.
