An interesting note , "Helmet for my pillow" by Robert Leckie , this was the book that was used as the base to the HBO TV series "The Pacific", and the writer/author is one in the series many would no him as 'Lucky' that follows his career .

After following the story and what happen to Sledge, the Pacific series is a good introduction to people react , during and post war.
