Now he really is Star-treking across the universe, honestly, you could not have found a better more ideal person for that character.

I'm playing Star Trek Online of which he was a big part of. All the players are gathering on Vulcan...

He's really not dead, as long as we remember him.

"Its life captain ... but not as we know it" He was Star Trek ...... but then i guess , they all were .
Take away one of the originals , and wouldn't be the same . I remember when he "died" in one of the series , and they shot his bod (in a pod) out into space .... but he came back didn't he ?
Great actor , and he also did a lot behind the scenes as well .

He reminds me of Leonard Cohen in a lot of ways.

Thats true Nick , and you can apply that to anyone close too you who departs. I try to keep my my old man close in that way , even though he's more than likely in a galaxy far away (maybe with Spock) :)
Memories are wonderful things most of the time , and good or bad , i think we need them.
And without wanting to get all metaphysical..... everything is a memory , what you did 10 seconds ago is a memory because its gone ... done ... I'll stop there , otherwise I'll start on the Quantum stuff (down the rabbit hole) and it will never end.
RIP Mr Spock , you did well

Our fleet just held a memorial event in Star Trek Online. Started on Vulcan and moved to the bridge of the original Enterprise. From what I saw all the fleets are holding one tonight. For so many years he was part of any Trekkies life as the most trusted, logical right hand to Captain Kirk. They defined each other.

He reprised the role several times in The Next Generation. But in 2009 he joined with Atari Studios at a convention and helped them announce the upcoming MMO, Star Trek Online. But he didn't stop there. He reprises his role yet again in the JJ Abrams movies, and also in the Star Trek Online game where he always provided the intro to the game, and for players playing Federation Captains, he gave his voice to the introduction every time you visited a new sector. Each Captain got a voice recorder with all his intros on it.

So the gaming community is doing memorials in their own way to someone who gave them what in part was a small role, but to the game itself lends so much. May seem strange but its just what they do. And the developers of Star Trek Online have announced they will be putting in the game a memorial to him on Vulcan as well. And right now I'm watching The Wrath of Khan, it just seemed an appropriate choice...

It is funny how it impacts people for what the person did or not so strange, ... there are the Givers and there are the takers ... the Givers always get remembered.
