Ive never seen anything like this before , in all my cloud watching years.

Not the best quality , taken from my old phone ....

I saw them also, thought they were high level cirrus but looking at those pics they look more like Cirrostratus especially with the halos in them. Possibly the patchyness of them is the wave from the alps?

Funnily enough, when I first saw these photos I thought they were angels descending from on high. I did get a visit from a couple of women last week, who wanted to talk about angels -- I wouldn't let them in, as I wasn't sure they weren't dangerous, but now I wish I'd got the latest goss....

Often get some strange effects from wind-blown Aircraft Vapour Trails at high altitude. I like cloud Watching!
