Good one, I can't help feeling that all those trips I've made to the coast via Arthur's Pass could have been a lot better up above the cloud layer!

What an out of box thing to do - magnifique!
And as pointed out: what a clean window, lucky beggar.

For through-the-window stuff, I have to use Movie mode on my digicam, because my camcorder does not let me set the focus to infinity and it locks on to the outer panel of the window.
Below is a link to a movie of my departure from Blenheim back in April which I uploaded to my gurgledrive. The file is nearly 800MB and shows taxying out and takeoff for NZAA. Also a few thousand acres of grapevines to cheer Paul up :D

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Thanks DashCap ... i do enjoy the Q flights. The ATR's are nice , but there's just something about those little Canadians.
Crew on that flight were great as well ....Justin (Captain) and Stacey (CP) and of course the delightful Carolyn in the back with us.

Pretty sure the aircraft was NEB.

Cheers, Em!..... ...!

I was quite surprised just how noisy it is inside the aircraft during taxiing fo take-off...turbo-props.

Talking about Vineyards....

...I'm following the daily news from http://www.kron4.com regarding the disastrous wildfires in northern California, and the total destruction of the Vineyards and buildings in Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley.

http://kron4.com/2017/10/16/santa-rosa- ... firestorm/

...and Americans still insist on building in amongst trees....which always catch fire during the very hot, dry, Wildfire season!...Crazy!

Paul.
