I don't do new year's resolutions, but it is a good time to reaffirm whatever is important to you. For me, it's the need to keep everything in balance, and that includes not just concentrating of the bad things that are happening in the world, but looking for the good.
This morning I saw this in the Press:

It's a cool story really, especially of interest to those of us who are obsessed with NZ movies. It reminded me that I have got very behind watching NZ-made movies, so I bookmarked the more recent titles mentioned in the clip. One wasThe Art of Recovery, When a City Falls, on TVNZ Ondemand, which is probably not available outside NZ, unfortunately, but for locals it is worth watching. The people in this doco are all my heros now. Well, maybe not Jerry Brownlee….
I don't know if the people of Christchurch will get the city they really want, but I do hope that 'impermanence' can become a permanent part of the place. I'm aware that some of these people may not be everyone's idea of a good citizen -- bloody hippies -- but I love them all.
