The final straw .....

Postby Splitpin » Mon Nov 01, 2021 6:55 pm

OMG dear friends, my life changed this afternoon and will never be the same again. I know, that it's 2021 (just) and we must accept and try to understand personal identification ....got it, no need to educate me any further...BUT! when this acceptance becomes "trans-species" I must speak out ...or type out, because you can't hear me speak.
ANYWAY ....as you may now know...the bird of the year 2021 is a Bat !! I campaigned/ voted/bribed/ and blackmailed really hard to install the Pied stilt to this lofty position ....but to no avail, they gave it to a Bat....yes, a Bat...a Mammal...YES, it can fly, but the rules say "BIRD " of the year.
It's like giving Propliner of the year to a 737. :P ..................Our only native MAMMAL, and that in itself is interesting when the first humans arrived on these little outcrops in the Pacific, the only Mammal living here was the 2021 "Bird" of the year...... just joking team, don't get all serious and boring, but it is a bit odd aye :)

You are batting against the odds, Matt!
"Holy Bats in the Belfry, Batman!".... ...!
I could never find a Bat to be a; "cuddly" creature...
They remind me too much of nasty Rats and Mice!... :( ...!

I always thought an NZ avatar to be an Emu?

I prefer Gold Fish.
They are easy to maintain, very quiet, and don't leave a mess!

Paul... :D ... :D ...!

All I could do was reply to the organisers and say "A bat is a bird?!"
