With my brothers sons birthday coming i was going to buy him a Hunter after his name. Richard said he prefer a drawing of his favorite aircraft, the B17 .
I thought a good idea for a topic - please add to it.

I guess a better idea is to move away from ball point pen , make a mistake can't take it out! :)

Cool, I've always loved aviation art. However can't do it myself. Come to think of it, the last thing I drew was an aircraft:

Ok, I've just designed a calendar with pics from a guy who combines aircraft model photos with real backgrounds, and I needed a sketch to remind me which way to place the cover into the booklet-maker to get it up the right way when I print the calendar:) The star thing is in fact a Mustang on the calendar...

wow guys nice drawings - hey Ian your drawings look like theycould be used for the Commando comic book series - maybe you could go into the professional aviaion art business?

I love doodling and sketching aircraft and have a few sketches lying around from many years ago (dont have much time nowadays) but my scanner is broke. They arent as good as those anyway.

Far out Ian, you certainly are a man of talent!

I've always admired aviation art. When I was younger, I remember walking past a village shop in England called 'Spitfire Art', where a guy used to have all his warbird paintings stuck up in the window. The website links don't seem to work, but if you google search for artwork by 'Trevor Lay', you might find some stunning scans.

In the latest 'Aviation News' (from memory...) there's a painting done at Wanaka -- absolutely brilliant. Apparently the guy started out doing landscapes, so the background is stunning (suits me) but he specialises in aircraft.

Sure i can wip another Mossie for you smile.gif i may try it in pencil .. many sketchs are very dated , the most recent being the B17 , just shows how easy it is to muck it up in BIC !

this is one fix .. ohmy.gif
