Of course we are not party to Emirates' business case, so it's pure speculation what drives their fleet choice.
Interestingly, they appear to be looking at expanding the A380 fleet, as well as adding B777-X

The biggest winner, ironically is the A330.
With the B787 programme slippage, it cleaned upthat market sector.
In fact, it is probably the A350's biggest enemy...
