Oh, and you will NEVER see me driving jap cr@p Just no flair, they're so common and boring
Oke, but everything has his price :P

I have had a VW, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes (used them all over 250.000km) and now for a year a Volvo V70.
After all I prefer a Toyota for reliability and price.

Hey, I'm prepared to pay more for something better (better in my eyes anyway). Parents have had a number of VW's over the years (the next one should be in the form of a 2006 Golf R32 Yess!! :D ), and they were impressed with reliability.

We still have a GOLF 1.5 (type 2 my1985) with 235000km now, but...euro cars are always expensive to fix....... even here in Holland :P

Nothing wrong with jap cars but when chiosing my first car i looked at acouple of things
looks / price /future parts /and ofcourse all the other little bits
what did i end up with ?
bmw 1993 320i / 100.000 odd miles/alarm/cd /etc and with so many about in NZ the parts are a good price ,
alot of boys in there jap cars get eaten with this car ,so thats a nice touch
Price $2500. insure value over $5000 :P

so there are many good euros and japs out there and as you have abit of time to choise not doubt the car right for your needs will come along shortly
good luck man ;)

 I know I'm posting trademe cars here too much, but has anyone had one of these? It might be a possibilty for mum's new car, but fuel consumption might be an issue. Dad already has another Merc and he's happy with how it's been so far.

Here

Also if anyone has any other ideas for cars that might suit her, just needs to be able to fit the dogs in the boot (So wagon/liftback/hatch), be a four door for the family and be fairly quick (shes a psycho driver :P ). Absolute price ceiling 50 grand.

She wants me to research, so this is all I'm doing :D

That's a stupid buy for the price, age and mileage.

That's better :P

Good find! :P I guess all you're paying for in that Merc is the badge and big engine. What about a Skoda Octavia RS Diesel wagon? We test drove one and they're mental (wheel spin in 2nd going 60 :D ) and they're owned/built by VW/Audi now. There's one in Wellington for about $45 i think.

Well, this fits everything you want.
Its not "jap cr@p"
Its reliable
It has low k's
It sure is original....

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-126761730.htm

As i said, the original part really fits it well...

Also, nice signature. I remember seeing that somewhere else too.... but where?....

I have a slight feeling that the designer of that car was drunk when he was doing the final design... Just a hunch
