He works the same way as you , and is the current "Airfix" box artist ..... amazing stuff he is doing , much like yourself.
Will catch up soon and bring the book.

Airfix kitset box art was always phenomenal , would be very interest to look at that, the early 1970s were the most impressive.

A lot of Abstract art is to simplistic or one can do when one was in primary school, others I give it a miss, Artist Bob Friedenberg gave me a nudge and I replied , now this is Abstract Art that has to me a real appeal, so simple but so detailed, B-) I told Bob better leave me to draw the aeroplanes :D the work involved here is so interesting.

BLACK CATS , This all started because one morning mowing the lawn, neighbour's Helen and Bruce stopped for a chat, they mentioned their son Jason had just open a small 'cafe' in Dunedin called the 'Black Cat Cafe' ... I start waffling away about a group in WWII Catalinas in the Pacific  you know me, anyway Helen told Jason about this, one thing lead to another ... so it has been full speed ahead.

This is in the late hours of the night, but it dose show this detail like is if the light is directly on - as the light in the room changes so dose the painting.

A made up history here, I could not find any detail off the cargo ship but reading about the exploits and tricks these guys did in 1943 , I decided - Target - one ammunition cargo ship old 1920 design and simply blow it up moored in shallow water somewhere in the Pacific. the ship hit by four 500lb bombs 'Direct Hit' first the initial explosion and next thing 'WHOOLIP' - a second massive explosion - ammunition ship alright , simply broke its back snapped in two and disintegrated , gone in 30 seconds !

One thing I need to get my hands on again is an air brush, I had one years back but was another item that was not returned .... I got pretty handy with it and would have been ideal for this sort of work, strangely it was only mentioned couple days back.

One thing I thought, was it worth buying a new gun and experimenting or stick to scanning and use the PC ... which is much cleaner ... BUT and many off those !

At HARS on the weekend, I was poking around their shop and noticed two paintings up on the wall - a nice Lanc, and I think t'other was a Cat. About A2 size, in frames, priced AUD500 and AUD600. Don't know if that was framed, or just the flat pic and organise yer own frame.

Even though they are a volunteer organisation, it has to be said, their comms are not the best. I was not willing to spend $500 to visit HARS, only to find the Drover was away, to Parkes or wherever. Their website is not well maintained. Can say more on TS, but not today or tomorrow. Took a serious email growl before I got any response at all about the Drover - for me, their record is about 5% responses to essentially simple requests.
