Simply take your time, best thing to do is concentrate on one specific point and grow it from there , don't draw three, just work on one.

This depends on what you are using , with Ink , ( ball point pen ) it is simply fast line draw, using more pressure on the outside and as you center to the hub you simply reduce the the weight in your hand and flick it faster as you go to the center.

With graphite pencil , Pencil , the technique is very similar, but you can smudge it, you have to be careful here so you don't create a squarish affect, idea is to draw a circle/disk to the shape you want and give it a try.

I do have the gear hear to make a little video to show how it is done, maybe tomorrow , daylight is the better .. course requires a little practice to describe exactly what I am doing rather the JIBBER JIBBER .

Here is a very good example , this is dated well over 40 years back but the flicking hand technique shows all around and not just propeller disks.
covers the terrain and the tanks .. the armour as well to good affect .

As you can see here the perspective is still miles out .. but starting to develop .. Glen, ! the great thing is, I taught myself, ... recommend to you ! this is serious make sure it stays in a pad or a book and SAVE IT! .. do not rubbish anything you do , If you are not happy with it , simply turn the page and start something new .

A few years back I took a drawing class, the teacher was a great drawer but kind of lost topic to quickly. One week it would be drawing faces, next week its land scape, then working with fountain pens and then charcoal. Personally I have no interested in working with fountain pens and charcoal is just messy stuff. But more the problem was he jumped stages to quick I never had time to finish my art
before starting something new. I gave up on it in the end just because I was never learning anything. It would have been better to say for the next 5 weeks we will focus on drawing a tree of your choice.

I will certainly do that. I see what you mean with the prop shading. I am doing mine first all in pencile

Idea .. do not listen to the teacher .. even me, start drawing , painting the is a different class for a start, simply start black and white

your right there have stopped going otherwise I would be bogged down with half drawn pictures. Of course black and white first maybe in 20 years be able to try color hehe

Idea here is don't try and compare, instead of all the arty farty terms a teach will come up with , hell's I just .. then hooked into it , not because I had to , ME .. don't know just started doodling , not a competition , something you may do , a mixture ... go colour simply don't talk about it you just stop .. shut down and start drawing ! .. no teacher can teach that ! trust me !

Drawing, Painting, Art, Calligraphy, Engineering, Sex, etc, came to me at certain times in my life....

...just like a flash of light!... .....!

They came...and they went...

I just made the most of it while they were in place!

Its a "gift"...it comes natural....you either have it...or you don't!

Its gone now....and I just have the Memories (and the results) now.... ...!

Paul...."Sleeping" is my favourite past-time now... ..... ....!
