Goos little trip Paul, one thing that struck me, the many rides I use to do was go out to the local airport or airfields, we have not seen you visit one of these yet .

Ian...

...there is only one airfield local to me...some 12 miles away....

Shobdon Aerodrome. Herefordshire...>>>

http://shobdonairfield.co.uk/

Its where I took some flying lessons in the Cessna 152 Trainer a few years ago.

I do pop there now and again, but there are lots of safety restrictions there, limiting access to interesting stuff; Hangar, Planes, etc...!

"Health and Safety" malarkey!

The major Airports are a long way away from me, in other Counties!

I will do a trip to Shobdon later on... ;) ....1

YEP! and it only works when it suits them as well, but then in saying that a road worker warring a hard hat in a suburban street ... that is just in case a 747 lands on top of them.

I do believe in helmet straight off .. and the gloves and the rest of the gear, you may never need it but it is going to keep you together, ... thing is there is areas in industry that I would say straight of .. example , safety glass's when tool making and on lathes or machining centers, loose your eyeballs may as well kill yourself !

I remember the days, 1940's 1950's that I used to wear only a black Beret on my head, or a Flat Cap, held in place with a pair of Mk VIII Flying Goggles.

A wonderful feeling of freedom then...but highly dangerous nowadays...and Illegal!

I often wish I could find a quiet place, somewhere, where I could ride my bike carefully without wearing a helmet, with no Cops around, just to get back that wonderful motorcycle freedom feeling!

.....it became compulsory to wear one in 1973.....

In all the trips and 'Tiki tours' I did, have seen some horrific accidents , two stick in my mind, a straight out off Governors Bay in Teddington and stupid women in a van over took on a semi blind corner, the guy had no were to go the lamp-post cut him in half ! ... other one in just past Arthur's Pass in the West Coast was the messy-ist , entrails and bits of body, of all things it was a camper van who waved this biker thru and straight into a car, four people in the Nissian Skyline were only bruised , the biker , blood and guts and was still alive for a good 20 to 30 minutes.

Hello Chums!..... :D ...!

Another nice sunny mid afternoon, so what could be nicer than a short run out into the countryside for a visit to a Local Saxon Church, of which there are many in Herefordshire, together with Medieval Castles!

This particular 12th Century Church...>>> https://www.hereford.anglican.org/ManselLacy/

Think about that , there is an a road of the main highway, little traffic, they did use it for time trails on racing bikes, the road is So so similar to the when Paul pulled off into the hamlet style Saxon area , it is just out the back of Tai-Tap nestled in by the Cashmere hills , It is so close to what was in that video.

Many thanks for all the interest, Chums!

The Herefordshire Countryside is a veritable Rabbit Warren of country lanes and tracks, dating from Medieval times when they were traversed by the locals and also passing travellers.
Now, many of them have been metalled (Tarmac), but they are still as narrow and difficult to navigate as the were when they were first constructed!

They can be very dangerous at times, with oncoming traffic hidden behind high hedges, and the locals not expecting me to be there!

...no room to pass...and I cant reverse!

Country lanes!...>>>>

Fast forward to 12:50 for an example.

Were we used to live, and I went to school, in the middle of nowhere, between 1940 and 1945!

The Village of Little Dewchurch in Herefordshire.

...and onwards...>>>

The County, as is the whole of Britain, is rich in history dating back to Iron Age Times, including my Family Roots (Paul Fosbery)...>>>

http://fosbery.tripod.com/

Everywhere I go there are traces of ancient history all around me, from the tracks, buildings, Castles, Churches, Hill-camps, forests, water-ways, etc...

I see it all around me as I travel.

Britain is steeped in well documented history!

I'm glad you like the videos, its nice to show other folks my surroundings, which are often quite different from other countries!

Very popular with my American Biker Chums, where their "hedge-less" scenery is very different from mine!

...I often envy them, with their uninterrupted views in all directions!

More stuff to come Chaps, with the weather getting nicer!

Paul.....A very Ancient Briton..... ;) ...!
