KENORA, Ont. - Even military men get the munchies.

A Canadian military helicopter touched down in Kenora, Ont., in the parking lot across from the A&W for a food run on Thursday evening.

Restaurant owner Randy Nickle said he was surprised to see the chopper touch down.

"They were hungry, they were looking for food," he said."

"They flew from Edmonton yesterday morning and were trying to get to Thunder Bay and of course they needed fuel so they stopped to get gas at the airport," he said.

"But because there's no food there they just decided 'Hey, Let's go to A&W for supper."'

At first, he said he wasn't sure what the helicopter crew was doing.

"I don't know if it was one of their test runs - let's see if we can park on a baseball diamond parking lot or what," said Nickle.

Nickle said crew members picked up an order of six burgers, four fries and drinks, before lifting off again on their journey.
