Powerboat Nationals At Lake Rotoiti

Had the opportunity to take some magazine photos covering this event at the weekend.
Never shot high speed boats before and a few challenges and exposure issues to sort out but pretty happy with the results.

The big bangers reached speeds of 200 kmh plus and the sound was amazing.

Great photos Gavin, and I have to join the crowd in saying that the second one is a really spectacular action shot.

I took the second shot from the edge of the wharf and watching the beast come around that corner with the driver nailing it and not backing off was very impressive.
Always great to watch guys who really push machines like these.

Have found a new interest, thats for sure.

Here are a few more, have loads more and will try and update my website with some at the weekend.
