If its not aircraft or screenshots ....its chasing bugs........ rolleyes.gif

the spider in that 3rd pic, is just one of those daddy long legs things....up close....scary looking thing. The first shot of the bee was taken in a rose...she was trying to get to the centre....

Change of pace i know....but enjoy......

They were taken with an old sony cyber shot....only 5 mega pixel......no good for anything like , in flight stuff, but just magic for macro.......its amazing what you can find, if you just look up.....or down.

Yep, the macro on that camera must b v good. Below are the best I can manage...

I've "cheated" a little by cropping in a bit, but there's no enlargement. There is a 100% unsharp level 2 mask, which helped to bring out the details a bit - esp on the ants.

I've got a FujiFilm S2000HD FinePix. I generally like the Fuji's (esp the greens & yellows), but I think this camera sacrifices image quality a bit much in order to have the HD video (which is fairly average - has trouble auto-focusing & you can hear the AF grinding away in most vids shot dry.gif )

EDIT: Ok, how come my pics aren't showing up? I've put them up on Webshots, and the links look correct, but no images - what gives?

EDIT 2: Weird - the images show up for a few mins, then go away. What's up with that? tongue.gif Trying something else...

EDIT 3: Ok, so by resizing them to 1920 pixels wide, 150dpi, and using Picasa albums, I'm all good. Wonder what's up with Webshots? wacko.gif

It appears you have the wrong url, that url is used for something else. Try get a direct link

In the mean time: copy and paste into address.
You can't even hyperlink them...? don't know why?

Edit: hyperlinks may be working, if they don't work copy/paste the 'code' below into the address bar.

Yeah, those bees certainly are an engineering marvel the way they can pack such a load and not get in trouble with the CAA... tongue.gif biggrin.gif

No, the ants just found that moth - or at least, that's what they said... winkyy.gif

I was v pleased with how well the bee came out - that is one definite advantage that using a 10mp camera has - v fine detail in super macro. I actually enjoy photographing small plants as well: the incredible detail on moss, lichen, tiny flowers & fungi is truly astounding when they are seen close up... ohmy.gif

Yep, those lads certainly have attitude to spare! I've got a couple of them lurking about on my photo CDs somewhere - just haven't uploaded them to my PC (one of those extreme "round to it" jobs). One really needs one of those specialist lenses that allows for telescopic macro, so you can keep yr distance with those mantis'. My step-daughter trod on one day, and ended up with a nasty infection in her foot for a couple of weeks afterwards! ohmy.gif Perhaps it was a "suicide mantis" packing poisoned barbs on his arms... tongue.gif laugh.gif
