Garage full like me? I haven't touched a kit in a few years now...
Have AMT/ERTL sorted out some consistency with their kits? I remember some were great, and others were shocking in terms of mold fidelity (second hand, worn out molds that had more than their share of pressings before AMT got a hold of them)

Somewhere out in the pile I've got some ancient Frog and Matchbox ones (1/48 Short Stirling...) and some funky resin jobs - Your Hasegawa kits should sell nicely as they always make a good job

Wow...FROG!! I remember them when i was only this high.....the amt stuff is very basic, but to a collector i think they may be ok.

I was into kits for a while. Then I just started buying and storing them. In the end, I had more than 300 kits stored away - 99% 1/72 scale - which I sold off over a period of 2-3 years. I'm quite the record-keeper, so I knew how much each kit was worth. Not taking into account inflation, I actually got my money back over the whole lot. Pretty good when one considers it was all through free newspaper ads and the Thursday Trader - pre-TradeMe days! All the best Marty - hope you get some chingers out of them.

My favs during my build days were Hasegawa & Italleri (not sure on spelling now?). Matchbox were ok but "basic". Airfix were more detailed but bad fitting. Revell as about the same as Airfix. There were a number of cheaper players at the time, but I don't recall their names now. At one stage, I had all the kits listed and cataloged - I may even have that list tucked away somewhere. Took me hours to type it using the DOS-VSE system at Databank Systems in Hastings where I used to work. There was a basic batch-editing program on there called JCLMAN which I used as a very rudimentary text editor. It had the advantage of being able to sort the code lines, so I could get alpha sorts by kitset name, price or manufacturer. Then I used the upteem-thousand dollar band-printers and 12" Lineflo to print off my list! Ah, those were the days...

Well it's good to see there's more than 1 kit hoarder on here

I have to say probably the biggest breakthrough in modeling for me was switching to superglue - being that I would bang through about 3 kits in a week, it cut down waiting time between assembly and as I was always exhibiting them at IPMS meets and Hobby shows it made repairs much simpler should the unthinkable happen.
Instead of cracking or tearing a component, it would split perfectly along the seam... I know the Cub and '109 I have on display at Classic Flyers have had that happen a couple of times, not that you can tell

It seems Im among like minded people here....Alphashark...IPMS + Display = Pro modeller lots of hidden talent here at NZFF......I havent built one for a long time time, since i had this little stroke, i find it hard to concentrate on the process....but no trouble with flightsim.......AS , i keep thinking about those frog kits you have Pm me some time and let me know what you dont want....

Ill wait till i get my PC home , Marty think i could easy spend a bit here , All the KC,s - CH46 and the CH-53 .... oh and that Hellcat ...

Not at the moment ....just the 2 blackhawks, and a 1/35 UH-1C . There will be more coming so Ill keep you up to date before i put them on TM.

Ian, at the moment Im looking at working my way through a 1200! kit collection....my brothers wife has decided she wants their house to look like a house again....so hes"thinning" out his stach. Im selling them on behalf..(for a comission)..hes a real tired bugger........

I'm doing something similar for my Nana with her son's Matchbox collection. I've moved on most of the Super Kings now, going to start on the small-fry during the end of year break. None of them are new or boxed, but if anyone's interested in some 60's & 70's-era matchbox vehicles, PM me

Been selling a few kits on TM myself lately. Sold a 1/48 Tamiya Skyray, 1/48 Tamiya Thunderjet, 1/32 Hasegawa A-4 Skyhawk and a mixture of 1/24 & 1/25 cars and trucks and a couple of 1/35 armour kits... Procrastinating over whether or not I should sell my 1/48 Pro Modeller B-17...

BB....Sorry i missed that 1/32 A-4....nice kits. I have no idea of priceing for tm....i think Im giving a lot away at my prices....but thats ok, they are going to good homes, If you spot this...what would fair priceing for the Trumpeter 1/32 F-105G (Wild weasel)? its a monster kit at 637mm long....still bagged.

Yeah mate, it's hard to price kitsets. Out of the kits I have sold so far, I sold the Skyray (partially assembled) and Thunderjet (sprues still bagged) for $35 each, Skyhawk (partially assembled) $50, 1/24 cars (partially built) $25 each, 1/25 Kenworth (partially built) $75, 1/35 armour kits (partially built) $35 each. These all sold within their 1st or 2nd listing, so I did wonder whether I was selling them for too little myself. The money is going towards new fishing gear, so I am happy.

To think I threw in the rubbish, an original 1/48 Tamiya Lancaster and 1/48 Monogram Liberator , amongst others, a couple of years ago when I had to clear stuff at the folks before they sold their house.

I have a 1/48 Tamiya Mosquito (assembled up to painting stage), 1/48 Tamiya Shitae III Kai (partially painted) and 1/48 Academy Sabre (assembled up to painting stage) which I am thinking of selling. The problem is packaging them if sold to an out of towner. Could make 'pick up' only I guess.
