Gidday team....Ian , Im glad your fine and sorry for not getting in touch ..you too Rob. Sadly the people who i cant find are more than likely dead....cant get my head around that at the moment.
Spent the day moving the mud and sand from the rooms ........still cant find the key board for my computer.
Major cracks in the house this time....not sure if i can stay here much longer......will know more in the morning.

It seems odd to be here on a laptop, when there are 100 plus people dead not more than 3km from me......hard to explain. I have power...but no water....
The flatmates have all departed...which is good because this place is stuffed....its like a warzone here....

Gotta go guys.....stay safe, and thanks for the pm's.......i would call some of the numbers you sent, but maybe later......just cant string 2 words together at the moment with out cracking up....just bloody awful.
Has anyone heard from Connor and the other chc menbers.....what a bloody mess.

I'm all right, just haven't had any time to post, actually this is the first time I have used a computer in days. Me, my dad and some mates went and shoveled out about nine houses yesterday, dad had his little 1.5 ton excavator from work, just doing our part. My aunty and uncle's place took a day to shovel out by hand and the bricks are leaving the framing with each passing aftershock. Dad has been working on a replacement cable working around Burwood, but he has done as much as he can.
There are so many good people around Christchurch, I had three carloads of people, random strangers ask if we needed a hand shoveling out a house yesterday with wheelbarrows and shovels in hand. Had another guy who had made a batch of chocolate and caramel slice that he had frozen and he was giving them away to people in the neighborhood whether they were living there or they were there helping out. A third guy and his family had been to the market and filled his ute and trailer with bananas and oranges for anyone, for free.
It is the 0.1% of people, the boyracer's, the looter's and the scammers that are bringing down a city that has already fallen enough. They are the leeches of society.
I'll have to stop typing now, as my arms are already sore from two and a half days of shovelling, and the typing is really making them hurt.
It is good to see that you are all right Marty, I hope we can say the same for your relatives. smile.gif

Good work Connor, and glad to hear SP is ok too. I wish I could be down there to help with the shovelling, I just can't easily leave my wife and two very young children home alone. Hope the sun shines on christchurch again soon smile.gif

Some good news....i found my keyboard and mouse thumbup1.gif and PC is alive....just had to hook up the power lead to the graphics card and away it went.
Dont feel much like flying at the moment, but Im sure that will come....and some Air***k screens......got a panel now winkyy.gif

All bad news regarding missing people(2 friends and one relly), but i think we knew that from the start.....time to let them go now i think....have to move on. I just want to make things as normal as possible....if thats possible.

One of my flatmates (Japanese) is helping out with the familys of those kids in the school.....nasty work....the Japanese take a very different approach to this kind of thing , compared to us.
Lots of disgust as well from the local Japanese people about those low life journos who tried to get into the hospital for interviews....they arent like that at all as a rule.

Connor and other chc members Im glad your ok.
