Not wanting to scare people, but those are the sorts of earthquakes that cause tsunamis.

Our thoughts are with you guys...... hope everyone is safe and well.......

I'm at work right now, busy diverting all the international ChCh bound flights elsewhere pending a runway inspection. Most are going to Wn but the tarmac is almost full........

I was in the hanger when the first one hit......not nice, and i was down in the aircraft hall when we got the mag 6.0.......bloody hell......lights started dropping from the roof, a big glass door in the upstairs display area split in two........took cover under the spitfire.
Anyway, no one hurt but lots of damage to the building, had to close it down untill we can make sure its safe.......about 20 windows broken in the end of 3 hanger.

Not too bad at home, pc on the floor again.....but going ok, and the contents of the pantry on the floor......but all ok.

There's nothing like all that glass up high -- gets the heart pumping, I bet.

I was at the hospital, defib clinic, and still connected -- wirelessly, thankfully -- to the defib monitor. I've always wondered what would happen if the power went off when my implant was set to transmit, but luckily I didn't have to find out this time...

Jez Guys I've been looking after a young fela most of the evening then a quick glance at the forums before finnishing a flight, so this is the first I've heard about it. I hope all our southern folk are okay - my thoughts are with you, over the Xmas period. Kia Kaha

Ian, Marty, Rob, and all other fellow Chch members,

Glad to hear you are all in one piece. I was up at Taylors for some flying when it happened. Pics were of Scarborough and Godley Head cliffs. Had at least 5 dust clouds during the day, so a lot of shakes. I managed to get up over the cliffs at about 1900 when the seabreeze died down a bit. New beach starting to form at base of Scarborough cliffs... Forgot my Bloody camera, will go back tomorrow to get some pics from a birds eye perspective hopefully.

Cheers

Mark

Amazing shots, Mark!

Our house insurance came up for renewal last week.
Boy that made my eyes water, the insurance industry is cleaned out and trying to get some sheckels back in the kitty after Canterbury...
But I guess for us up north it is just a bit more outgoing money now, when our turn comes it will be a volcano.

Hang in there gents.
