Saying a bird strike , Mary Bobbins flying around airports again rolleyes.gif .. the engineering on these engines are far by compare to the early RB211 s .. so many problems in components , today materials and design work and is so more composite moulding involved makes them more reliable ... RR in the 70s were taken short cuts caused those probs . ..... Damn birds

I loved the comment made by someone (either to the Herald version of the story or the Yahoo one): "If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going". laugh.gif

"I see they manged to get the words panicked and exploded into the article but never mentioned plummeted!" - Nice one Dean: too true. But I bet they tried their darnedest to get "plummeted" in there... biggrin.gif

This is an interesting call Ian, I mean who is left really?
Apart from the two you mention the following are also now either gone or going: Mubarak, Assad, Gaddafi, Kim Jong-il, Castro

Who has the media got left to hi-light now as public enemy number one?

Khomeini obviously, but Iran seem to be doing all they can to stay in the good books. Chávez maybe so they can wrestle the Oil off Venezuela?
Noone will dare focus on an Israeli leader while they're backed by the yanks.

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!
