Hi guys,

This is just a bit of a rant really, but I have to get it out of my system... Well, I watch Youtube FSX videos on a daily basis, to get new ideas, see all those beautiful virtual cockpits, sceneries, get motivation, enjoy, etc. Unfortunately I'm here to report that these videos are getting worse and worse...

So, if anyone EXPECTS others to Subscribe, Like, or Comment their videos (as they state in the description) please try to follow these simple (common-sense) guides:

- If your PC is not strong enough to generate even 15 FPS please don't bother uploading stuff... It's not enjoyable
- Pretty please, we're not interested in 10+ minutes of wing-views (even if you use some fancy Sony Vegas effects)
- If you don't have any level of Anti-Aliasing, even if you upload it in 720p it will still look bad...
- Saying "cool" and "pretty good" about a product is not considered a review! Be a bit more specific...
- We don't need more titles like "As real as it gets", "Super Realistic" or "Look, I spent a trillion dollars on my PC". Just call them what they are: like "747 at sunset", "Beech Baron and Accu-Feel", etc
- FSX is 6+ years old, we don't need more tutorials on how to install a plane or change the weather, thank you...

On the other hand, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU for all those guys, who really put time and energy into making beautiful FSX movies, useful tutorials, and comprehensive reviews throughout these years.

Good examples (check out these Youtube channels):

pohlnz1
jerdooflightx
cessna154
jaggyroadfilms
TheAviatorFSX
keysounddotcom

Oh, just another thing. I know that we live in a world of easily offended people under the sky of political correctness. This is nothing personal, it's plain common sense, so please don't curse me or my mother smile.gif

Dan

PS: I feel light again smile.gif

Absolutely no problem with poor quality if the uploader states that he's aware of it, and he asks for comments to help him develop. But most of them think that they're Peter Jackson and urge you to "like and subscribe" for that crappy-looking 10FPS FS2002 quality... That's what made me write what I wrote.

Dan mate, no need to rant, just hit the "un-like/thumbs-down" button on each video you hate and let the crowd do the filtering smile.gif

I'll call you 'Dan Quixote' from now on, Dan, single-handedly improving the quality of Youtube... You make some good points, though. But Youtube is open to anyone and everyone, so the quality spread is always going to be huuuuuuge.

I still watch the odd flightsim video on Youtube, but I must admit that if they don't grab me in the first few seconds then I'm out. You've mentioned the worst offenders -- wing view vids should be illegal. But 'theme of the month' videos are just as bad, too many me-too stuff whenever something new appears.
