Ill find and dig up the article , this type of thing was on the drawing boards around 1980-82 considered following idea from America's company Fairchild C-128 Packplane in around the 1950s , every thing worked fine and was not a bad idea , not new at all .

Ian's right of course, there's nothing new under the sun, only the possible implementations change.

While airport transfers are a pain, I'm not sure I'd want to be stuck in the same capsule for 30 hours or so.
Perhaps better as a short haul application, where transfers bite a big piece of the journey time..

The idea of leaving your car at home .. me , I've never had one but the ease , who's to say it has to be a train , short haul .. ply the local bus route to the airport , click clack connected to your plane and off you go .. short haul that's to Sydney or the eastern OZ city's .. land in Syd's and directly into town .. international course require custom's .. how easy it is to contain a drug mule or a wanted crimm full stop ! .. contained already and maybe in the future have the delete button eject system if your a real undesirable at 30/40,000 ft
