Hey guys this is an odd one but I figure it's worth a shot. I have a sweet old 81 mini which has just failed a wof due to the seatbelts being faded and I need to find a set. I figure somebody out there in flightsim land might know somebody who has parts lying around or contacts in the parts business, if so let me know cheers

The Famous little car .. surely it must me able to be retrofitted with a today's standard belt up system ? .. a seat - boy-racers they lower/higher them but i did not think you could get any lower than a Mini .. the weld brackets to the floor gone i spose ... old Ford Anglia seat frame fits , one thing i do no about cars , Bro Rick had to do the same last century .

Be aware that there can be an issue with fitting second-hand seatbelts. I replaced mine on my MX5 but was told afterwards that I was very lucky to have got away with it.
Will possibly come down to the "friendliness" of your WOF station. Not sure of the actual legal situation but have a look at it before you waste time and money.

It's legal as long as you replace the belt and latch as a complete set. This is because although the belt may fit your latch, it may not be secure in an accident so the partner it came with from the factory must be used.

I,m sure that the Mini should be OK with second hand belts as I am guessing that it is not fitted with retractor belts. The reason that you were lucky to get away with it in the MX5 is because any vehicle that is fitted with a retractor type seat belt fitted in a front outer seating position must have the failed belt replaced with a webbing clamp seatbelt unless a webbing clamp seatbelt is not readily available for that vehicle or the vehicle will require modification to fit the webbing clamp seatbelt, proof is required for modification or nonavailability of the webbing clamp seat belt. Then you may fit a standard retracting belt of the same type removed. Webbing clamp seatbelts are new to the market and not yet readily available second hand. That is were the confusion of fitting new belt to a car when failed for a seat belt fault has come from.
That was a long and maybe confusing story

I deal with these guys all the time they are the best I have come across in the business Seat belt sales Give them a go .

If someone had told me that before I did my own dodgy repair, I would have put it in a garage and left it there for the family to claim it as a classic in 50 years time...
