First thought , come here and ask , did anyone here buy themselves an A3 flatbed scanner and don't use it , sorta went over board now just sits there like a white elephant .. Mustek is the best brand , seem no PC shop deals with anything other than the standard A4 sheet flatbed .. and yes checked trademe there is one for sale but requires power mod's to it US-NZ connection ,

Little bit way over priced .. maybe later , need it HR but at an edited res price

If you have an A3 original that you need to scan, can you photocopy it at your local library and reduce it to HR(like 600dpi) A4?
You could then save that file to a SD or stick or whatever, and toddle round to a mate's place which has an A3 plotter, and print that out...

Mike , I'm producing art , old days was BIC black ball point pen , changed to using that base pencil line (whoops yuppy word vector line draw) , instead of drawing and covering detail i've approach the whole them drawing them rivet by rivet .. this is were after the line base i can blend the and bleed the BIC with the pencil , still takes a few week to get a good result , having a good scanner saves the hike to the 'Copy-shops' were explain what i want ... almost like DEATH , let me at the equipment type thingy ..

Get a good A3 scanner here and i'd be rockin !

You can try the double/triple scan on your A4 scanner and
then use photoshop to merge to panorama (works pretty well I the latest versions of PS), you just need to ensure that there is a bit of overlap between the images.

It does take a bit of fiddling around but it does work and is a lot cheaper than a new scanner.

A little practice and you should be good to go.

Yeah thought of that Greg , just that extra mucking around but in case i don't place it .. not the same as ZIP ZAP INTERNATIONAL VISA , should have got one years ago .
