Painted in this retro scheme to celebrate 70 years. Rego VH-XZP.
Named James Strong after the former CEO who passed away in 2013.
I like it.

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Pretty sassy... Travolta's V-jet 707 in similar livery still the sassiest I reckon.

What's a V-Jet??

JTs 707-138 series or 'B' long range .. V-jet was nickname given due wing plan form, when the first introduce the 707 the majority of the long range QANTAS fleet were the Lockheed Constellation, after the complete intro the name stuck.

Gorgeous photo you dug up Charl , sassy alright.

Nice paint of that B738, a nice repaint for the PMDG NGX maybe?

Ah, right!
Years ago, I saw one of these thunder off at surely max takeoff weight to go halfway round the world, I think with water injection to get over the boundary fence.
It made a mighty impression in that livery, and started a lifelong infatuation with 707 jets for me.

The big difference between this model , it had the short fuselage of the 717/720 series with the wings of a standard 707, this is were the B - course due to the shorter fuse that is were it picked up the strake under fuse fin.

The B category/variant was given to QANTAS also later for the 747, but the V-jet label was retired around 1974/75 .
