Now this is cool , an ELF bike .. an Item on TV3 news tonight .. All we now need ELF lanes.


The concept , I want one

Oi loike dat ! - must send a link to my youngest bro. He collects 100-yr-old bicycles, which is more practical than collecting Dreadnoughts from the same era.

Mike they go on about the road toll, the fuel, parking and moneys and maybe the ones who need the exercise , would seriously suit the round town city commuters, future development , I can see these going a long way.

Saw em on the news. I so want one...

Certainly be idea in the city centers, I could imagine Riccarton Rd or Papanui Rd, just think the entire family would need one

The world has change since thirty years back .. a "notorious ... example of failure" A Sinclair I knew one who was the same in engineering ... just think pack a picarnic lunch, cameras on board an ELF, they did say on a good day you would get 35MPH out of it on solar electricity, keep the throbbing pistons for the long range trips

I did have some GREAT fun on a 'Rickshaw' in Brissy , round about the same time as the World Expo 1988, the chap really pulled his chicken wings out and really was entertaining .... dropped me and me bro were your could get some superb 'Uncle Benny tucker', ... we were there for 40 plus minutes and on walking out there he was ... got me home to the hotel ... nothing wrong with pedal power

Hehe - they call them 'Pedicabs' these days. There is a stand quite near the museum. There are also QLD Police patrolling the South Bank Parklands on Segways...we have a scheme to hire a pedicab and bribe the driver to go hooning round the Parklands, so the cops will chase us on their Segways. Should make a great video

'Pedicabs' aye , back in 88 during the World Expo , one had a boom box in it .. me and bro felt we were in a Mike Meyers Wayne's World Bohemian Rhapsody movie and had to nods our heads to suit

Younger viewers might need to know that the Expo 88 site was developed to clear out derelict wharfage, warehousing and so on. After being 'the old Expo Site' for quite a while, it was redeveloped as the South Bank Parkland, which includes the Qld Cultural Centre and the Qld Performing Arts Centre. These days it is a great public facility, with Australia's only inland, city centre beach.
I was still in Port Kembla in 1988, so I didn't get to the Expo - my annual leave was already allocated - but about half the rest of the works did, so those who stayed behind could soon talk about the Expo as if they had actually been there. The thing everyone remembered was that NZ had a brilliant exhibit, but there were huge queues to get to it.
