Real Blast from the past .. TV4 Movie: "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" I have not seen this since the first UFO landing from Planet Claire in 1947

.... doubling up on me mash potatoes tonight

......... sorry since 1977

Damm .... this new format is great , but i keep missing good posts .
The old system (i know ... old) seemed a little easier to follow..... Im sure its just me

Marty, I did not realize how long the movie was .. tho having the idea off space men , I would not mind building an over-sized potatoe mountain and have something like that really happen ... I seriously could do with a tan , it amazing looking at the techno off 40 years back .. mash potatoes had been invented .. but the idea .. brilliant

I'd forgotten just how good this movie was, some great acting from all ages, including the kids, and certainly stands the test of time.
Funny to see the scramble to roll the globe down the hall, these days we take things like Google Earth for granted....
Great to see a realistic reaction to alien visitors -- I watched a doco on NatGeo or something, showing the US govt's plan for an alien visit, and I think the idea is shoot first and ask questions later... no guns in Close Encounters, though, which is probably the best way to greet something which has the technology to travel through space...

Rob, I watched with so much enthusiasm for a 1977 movie , I was not let down ..... tho I did not cook any mash potatoes .... really was a retro fun movie and funny in places .... no wonder I never wanted kids
