A small victory, but very satisfying.

At the end of Feb, I booked flights to get me to Wings Over Illawarra on May 2-3rd. In early March I checked the SydneyTrains trackwork schedule and discovered buses were replacing trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong all that weekend. Since I did not want to sit in a bus in a 60km long traffic jam, I emailed the airshow organisers to ask them why they were advertising arrangements for extra trains and special fares, and asking them to confirm which info was correct. All I got was a system-generated reply, nothing heard since.
Yesty morning I emailed SydneyTrains and I have just had a reply - the trackwork scheduled is now on the following weekend. I looked at the pdf and sho'nuff, it was updated yesty arv  :D

That was one thing I did noticed ways back in 1988 Australian Bicentennial Airshow at Richmond, trains arriving and had special stops directly on the airfield perimeter.. I thought that was a bloody great Idea ! .. We all know what it like to st in an after- airshow traffic jam , but this double decker carridge setup and directly at the door of the AF base COOL

Dose not work all the the time tho, a van parked out this morning , I had voted against this really hard .. all away along the my very short street , least one side has been turned into a P120 , hang on the workers have to park on the street , not in business carparks , dose not worry me, I never have owned a car ... but I do know many off the people that use it for off street parking during the week plus a couple that own two cars ... Something really screwed here !

It is a dang good idea , get the best off both worlds, my ole man was a real Train nutter .. guess turned me into a Plane nutter .. we always spend brilliant afternoons checking out Christchurch airport .. the Choo Choo's , that had to be the old Christchurch Railway station or the Ferrymead Museum.
