Of frogs and other trivia

Postby Splitpin » Mon May 11, 2015 8:52 pm

I was just reading on the chat place , that Fozza had a recipe for baked frog . Which reminded me of a neighbor(2 down) i had here a while ago , his name was Wil , he was from the UK.
He was a great guy , but sounded like someone out of east enders crossed with Alexei Sayle ...... anyway , turns out he had a frog living in his garden ...bit odd for these parts , but i had no reason to doubt him.
One afternoon he knocks at the door ..."allo mate its Wil from darn the road ... i avent seen my little mate fred(ees a frog), for a few days ,and i was wondering if i could ave quick butchers at your yard ..... just in case ees decided to move out "
No problem ...... hes out there for about 10 minutes , comes back to the door "no sign guv ... but i did notice you ave 2 moggys" ..... "you dont think they would ave a taste for amphibians do ya " I assured him , if the cant spell it , they wont eat it.
Turns out , Fred , found Florence .... who he persuaded to move to Wil's and raise some tadpoles .................... sadley , but amazingly , my "moggys " COULD spell tadpole :ph43r:

And the other trivia (but nice ) is , they found that missing police dog ..thames .... and that lady runner who was missing.
Just a shame about the tadpoles :(

I love my Cockney lingo!.... :D ....!

Even after leaving London for the rural fields of Herefordshire at the start of the Blitz, I still haven't lost my Cockney accent.....

...and I often use it for my amusement!.... ...!

Listening to "Aussie-speak", its easy to see that most of the criminal imports came from the City of London, and thereabouts!
