Figure this one out ... because Im buggered if i can.
I was looking for some USAF patches for my younger brother (for his collection) I found a place in the US that had them .... put them in the cart ...total amount $46.60 USD (which was fine)
Remember these things will fit inside a standard envelope ... BUT! when i got to the check out .... the "standard" UPS cost to ship here was $184.08 USD ,making the total transaction ... $230.68 usd !! .... for $46.60USD worth of product.
Needless to say , the sale didn't happen

I wont mention the company name , just in case this is a mistake ..... but i can say , i tried another dummy sale ...with similar results.

I have in the past purchased stuff from the states , and the post cost is expensive .... but this just seemed extreme , your thoughts would be welcomed.

In my experiences, some places really try and avoid shipping overseas and so they put stupid prices on the shipping or only allow you to ship overseas using the most expensive method. Try Ebay would be my suggestion.

When I order stuff from Amazon, I look for two things:

Where they are shipping from.
The cost of Postage/Packing/Carriage.

Stuff from Hong Kong, Far East, etc, is often free!....(and speedy delivery!).... ...!
Stuff from the USA?.....forget it!..... ....!

I always take careful note of the cost of postage compared to the value of the contents!

Just purchased a front fork mounted leather Tool Roll for my Cruiser Bike, from the Far East. Delivery in a couple of days!
Nice for my "shades", skull bandanna, various tassels, etc....and a few spanners/wrenches.... :wink2: ...!

Paul.... ....!

Marty, if shipping within the US is cheap, or even free, you could try setting up YouShop with NZ Post.
We have used this occasionally and saved a bit of money
