I'm in Napier/Hastings the next few nights, hope to be back in time for our server Thursday at 7. I will return with photos from the flight, Napier Airport (first time I have flown into Napier for real) and Waipukurau Airport. Cheers.

Hi Jon,
you will like flying into Napier.
Over the last 3 years I have done approx 70 to 80 flts from Aucks to Napier in the Saab340's.
Have had some interesting approaches and have done the jump seat many times.
The Saabs are one of my favourites, they are a small aircraft with big aircraft systems.
Did about 6 flts in the Dash 8 Q300, not as much fun as the Saabs.
Waipuk airport is nice, you can get quite low over the road on one approach.
You will enjoy.

Thanks, I did. Damn rough out of Wgtn this afternoon, a blustery northerly had us banging around for the first 3000 feet, overwing aircraft arent the best in turbulence I find, still we made it in one piece.
