Just a tad rattled

 As if I need another drama at the moment ..... talking to the landlord a day or so ago about the fact that the lease was way overdue for renewal (like 4 months)
She said " I'll get Bob to call you " ... her partner.
Anyway to cut a long story short ... these folks also own the place next door , which will be vacant this weekend . Bob called me and said he would like to bring an estate agent around on thursday night "just to see where we stand " ..... where they stand is , 2 full 1/4 acre sections in a fast-growing area just 10 mins south of the CBD .... I know what I would do .. so , i guess Im looking for a new home.
Its a shame because we have spent thousands on plants and landscaping over the past 14 or so years renting this old place .... I love it. But , I guess , if it isn't yours (to own) you are always at risk.
I just hope , if they do sell , we are given enough notice to allow my partner (ex flatmate I kept under wraps ;) ) and myself to move all the plants , shrubs etc that we have collected over the years.
I know it comes down to basic economics .... I'm just worried about the fact that we are sitting here with no current lease ... etc etc ..... stress I do NOT need at the moment.

SHITE Marty ! that is something you really don't need , looking after and caring for a place for so long, I would really hate that on my mind, .. rent scares me to the point , seriously would not ever sell my place, what about moving into your Mums place, see would be happy to have you really close by I'm sure :)

Bugger, yeah, that's always on the cards when you rent, you can get attached to a place. Although in my experience owning your own place isn't all that great, either, with me it's always ended in divorce:)

We've been given notice here, the landlord wants to put his family in here for Christmas, so I'll be homeless from beginning of December. I'll stay with my son and his family in Geraldine for a while, while my flatmate builds a new house in Lyttelton. I'm getting too old for all this moving about...

At least it's coming up for summer, so living under a bridge is always an option!

Let me know how the rental market is at the moment...

Even putting rubbish out tonight , looking around , garden shed and maybe tent come lean to .. So strange one dose not really feel at home till the subject you can be kicked out, so I guess it puts me in the lucky basket, .... When I brought this place I was told I was an idiot , Women .. Sorry Girls .. you go off and fight ... simply I love my home !

Landlord and agent turned up tonight .... the old place was looking great , garden full of colour , everything spotless .
But all I vain I think , the agent's eyes were only looking at the combined section sizes .
I dont blame the landlord for looking at his options , as I said last night , the area I'm in is close to the cbd , and the combined sections he owns will provide space for at least 6 good sized townhouses with grounds and off street parking.
But nothing has been said to us so far , so we may get another few months or even a year out of the place .
Its just not having a lease that bothers me ..... ahhhh , too tired to think about it tonight -_-

Will advise any updates.

A year dose not last that long, worst they and their dealings can have you moved in a few months , one thing , after showing photo's of your Beamer when you had it the grounds looked stunning, thing is that is a plus for you, next landlord would want to keep you in there.

Actually, not too bad, atm. Three weeks ago we secured a modern two bedroom townhouse in Bryndwr for $400 p.w.. By West Coast standards that's still a tad pricey as we will be leaving a fully renovated/modernized, 4 bedroom Victorian villa/farmhouse on 100 acres costing us $360 p.w.. We take possession in 3 weeks time, so it's back to Christchurch we go!

Regards,
Dorian

Bryndwr ! Crikey almost around the corner from me , we may have to set a meet, the regulars here Greg and Marty, we will wait till ya settle in tho, or maybe not ... I hate the thought of ever moving again , my place maybe small but a lot sure comes out off it !
SO ITS A WELCOME TO CHRISTCHURCH B-) ........... AGAIN :D

All's good :) got an email from the owner last night assuring me they are not selling.
The rent will only increase by $10.00 , and they want me to sign a lease for another 12 months ..... so relieved .

Biggest thing is also being in a place for so long , years ago I was told I was a 'fool' to buy this place, pleased you stopped.
