I stalked this bugger for hours today B-) ...finally caught up with him ... it was huge .
I approached from down wind ......... Image

But it turned , and took on a threatening stance ... Image

We stood there (well , I did ... he hasn't got legs ) ... kind of , eye to eye .... Image

He changed his stance in a blink ( several actually , but I waited) .... I looked away for a second , and he was gone .... well ... he was definitely on the way ...

Image

Anyway , by the time I washed the car , mowed the lawns and had lunch .... he had vanished :D

My goodness they are weird things , i know they destroy gardens , but I cant bring myself to kill one .... I relocate them . Pop them into a plastic bucket and release them down the road in the park ... some place shady and damp .

Hours to track a snail? :o A bit of salt on the tail will do for them - also works on Triffids.
Poor bugger was probly peacefully making its way across the lawn when you mowed it down

Wonderful story, Marty!..... :D ...!

I have a similar affinity with Garden Worms, when they are stranded on the dry pathway in the heat of the Sun, or dropped by over-flying birds.

I stop, and pick them up, and place them back into the damp and comfort of the nearby grass..... ...!

Snails, OK...but, I must admit...I'm not too fond of Garden Slugs!... ...!

The sudden; "snaily crunch" under foot, when leaving the house in the morning, for work, can spoil the whole day!... :( ....!

Paul.... :wink2: ....!

No need to add extra oil when frying them in the frying pan!
