Rogue One at the Geraldine Cinema

Glad I got to see this last night, with my son, before I heard the news that Carrie Fisher has died, kind of a fitting thing to see this at the old Geraldine Cinema, which is one of the old 'character' cinemas from way back. I haven't been to a cinema for a long time, which is probably the norm these days, so having a working cinema is becoming a rarity for a small town.

The cinema seats quite a few, and the front rows are replaced with old couches, so with just a dozen patrons last night everyone got a comfy seat:) I really enjoyed the movie, more so that any previous Star Wars, (not a big fan) mainly I enjoyed the whole experience of the old cinema, took me back to my childhood when I used to sneak out Sunday nights and go to the Sunday Horrors at New Brighton...

So although not a devout Star Wars fan, I was always a fan of Carrie, she was my age almost exactly, so it hit home doubly for me.

Here's he ancestry.com entry on the cinema-- if anyone is passing through Geraldine, give me a shout and we'll catch a movie.. or at least get a coffee...
